As the latest version of the popular game comes out later this year, it will allow collaboration among players, just as IT security professionals need to collaborate in battling common cyber adversaries, says Gilliland, HP senior vice president and general manager for enterprise security products.
In the interview, Gilliland:
- Contrasts the traditional approach enterprises take to secure IT with what he calls the "new school" approach;
- Explains why "old school" basics such as cyber hygiene, people and processes and security fundamentals not only remain critical, but helps reduce the costs of a breach when properly implement; and
- Describes how a "cloud proxy" could help enterprises see into the cloud to help develop new ways to secure critical data.
Correction: In an earlier version of the description of the audio interview, the term "cloud proxy" was misidentified as "cyber proxy."
